Our Product
Self-healing hydrogel capsules
Our innovative product harnesses the power of biology to create construction materials that heal themselves. We encapsulate beneficial bacteria within hydrogel capsules that are mixed into concrete at the point of casting.
When cracks form and water enters, the capsules rupture and release bacteria that precipitate calcium carbonate—effectively sealing the crack and restoring structural integrity. This approach reduces long-term maintenance, extends building lifespan, and supports a more sustainable built environment.
Technology
Bacteria Cultivation
We cultivate specific strains of bacteria that produce calcium carbonate when activated by moisture, forming the basis of our self-healing mechanism.
Hydrogel Preparation
Bacteria are encapsulated in a durable hydrogel matrix that protects them until cracks allow water to trigger the healing reaction.
Capsules Ready for Cement
The finished capsules are designed to be mixed directly into cement, ensuring even distribution and long-term stability within the structure.
